






The opening ceremony of a new concrete road in Ale-bo Village, Magway Township, Magway District, implemented by the Magway Region Department of Rural Road Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, was held at the road on the morning of September 5.
Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and officials formally opened the new concrete road by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Chief Minister said that, according to the 2026 Population and Housing Census, there are 4,790 villages in Magway Region, with about 83 percent of the region’s population living in rural areas.
He said that the government is therefore accelerating the implementation of rural development projects with the aim of narrowing the socioeconomic gap between urban and rural communities, creating employment opportunities for rural residents, increasing family incomes and enabling them to undertake small-scale agricultural and livestock breeding activities, and promoting the emergence of small-scale industrial and handicraft enterprises. Next, the Magway Region Department of Rural Road Development presented a report on the implementation and progress of the project. A local resident also expressed words of thanks, it is reported.
