Fireworks cover Seoul sky as annual festival takes place

The Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026 took place on Saturday, drawing massive crowds to Yeouido Hangang Park and Ichon Hangang Park along the Han River waterfront.

"Your Infinite Colors," designed to share messages of comfort and individuality through synchronized multimedia fireworks, laser effects, and music. World-class pyrotechnic teams from South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom showcased custom displays. Typically held in late September or October, the festival was moved up to early September to align with the Chuseok holiday period and peak international tourist demand.
