











The Myanmar–Viet Nam Business Forum took place in Hanoi of Viet Nam on Sunday, with the attendance of President U Min Aung Hlaing during his official visit to the country.
The forum commenced with opening remarks by Vietnamese Deputy Finance Minister Mr. Nguyen Duc Chi and President of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry U Aye Win. Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Nguyen Van Thang later discussed the implementation of agreements between the two governments with the active participation of entrepreneurs and business associations.
He called for greater cooperation between businesses from the two countries to foster sustainable economic growth by overcoming challenges and creating new opportunities. In his speech, President U Min Aung Hlaing said that Myanmar–Viet Nam bilateral relations have continued to grow stronger through cooperation based on mutual respect in the region, amid a period of heightened global political and economic changes and challenges.
He said that Viet Nam is an important trading partner of Myanmar, with Myanmar mainly exporting agricultural produce, marine products and other foodstuffs, while importing fertilizers, plastic products, automobiles and spare parts. The President expressed that, amid current global economic instability, it is difficult for a country or company to stand strong on its own.
He called for greater cooperation in various sectors including economic, trade and investment, transportation, information and communication, science and technology, agriculture, livestock breeding, tourism and people-to-people exchanges under the Myanmar-Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership. The President expressed his belief that the forum could foster partnerships based on mutual respect, promote technology-driven development, and contribute to a brighter future in the long-term economic interests of the two countries.
The forum brought together over 600 entrepreneurs form Myanmar and Viet Nam, displaying products from both countries at more than 20 booths. Memoranda of agreements for economic cooperation were also signed among the entrepreneurs. After the forum, President U Min Aung Hlaing met with the Chairman of Viet Nam-Myanmar Friendship Association Mr. Chu Cong Phung and party and discussed on development of bilateral economic relations, promoting multisectoral cooperation, and successful implementation of the businesses with the supports of the two governments.
