Relief Supplies : Providing aid to flood-affected residents

Over 800 people from 190 households were temporarily left their homes due to flooding in Kalay Township. On Saturday, Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay and officials provided foodstuffs to the affected residents.

The aid included rice, cooking oil, salt, food and purified drinking water. The Chief Minister urged residents to take precautions against floods, prevent diarrhea diseases and return to paddy farming when the floodwaters recede. He also inspected areas in Kalay affected by flooding from the Myittha River and Nayrinsara River, where water levels were falling.

The Chief Minister and officials also inspected sections of the Kalay-Kyi Kone-Kalaywa road that were damaged by floodwater erosion. He instructed officials to repair the damaged road shoulders promptly and take necessary measures to ensure safe transportation.
