Capacity Development Programme : Parliamentary cooperation between Myanmar and India

Myanmar delegation led by Pyithu Hluttaw International Relations Committee Chairperson Dr. Pwint San visited India  to observe "Capacity Development Programme" from September 1st to 8th.

The visit aims to enhance parliamentary cooperation between Myanmar and India, under the Parliamentary Research Information for Democracy program. During the visit, Speaker of Lok Sabha Mr. Shri Om Birla received Myanmar delegation at the Parliament house and exchanged commemorative gifts.

They discussed matters on role of Parliament and legislation in Indian politics and administration, committee systems, financial committees, constituencies’ management, communication with institutions including the state legislature, and the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS)  and parliamentary rights for local development.

During the visit in India, Myanmar delegation also visited parliment buildings, library and art museums to elevate capacity of Hluttaw representatives for regional development.
