






The Central Body for Suppression of Trafficking in Persons held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. Union Minister for Home Affairs and Chairman of the Central Body Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe attended the meeting and made a speech.
He said that Myanmar is accelerating its efforts to combat human trafficking, recognizing the prevention and suppression of human trafficking as a national responsibility. He added that Myanmar is also stepping up its participation and cooperation in international efforts to combat human trafficking.
In order to prevent human trafficking among those illegally seeking employment abroad, awareness-raising and preventive measures are being intensified at city and border checkpoints, in cooperation with relevant ministries and departments. He called for cooperation of relevant ministries in an effort to prevent illegal trafficking in person. Attendees reported on implementation of the combating the human trafficking and the Union Minister gave a concluding speech.
