SCO leaders adopt Bishkek Declaration, chart course for next decade

At the 26th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) officially adopted the Bishkek Declaration.

The landmark document establishes a unified strategic course for the bloc’s next decade, focusing heavily on regional security, economic integration, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. The summit also marked the 25th anniversary of the SCO and concluded with the signing of 28 outcome documents. These agreements transition the organization from declarative policies toward concrete, long-term regional delivery.
