







Efforts are underway to prevent further erosion of Ngawun embankment in Laymyethna Township of Hinthada District in Ayeyawady Region.
On Sunday, the Thae Phyu Chaung Pyar and Maha Myaing Tawya Sayadaw, together with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, inspected ongoing work to block water flow through the damaged section. Officials from relevant departments, engineers and workers are using steel sheet piles, cranes, electric vibratory pile hammers and sandbags to strengthen the embankment and protect it from water erosion.
The Sayadaw and the Chief Minister encouraged Tatmadawmen, fire brigade members and local residents involved in the emergency work. Later, they attended a ceremony at Lahapa လဟာပ village monastery in Hinthada Township, where Buddhist prayers and relief supplies were provided to monasteries, nunneries and flood-affected residents from Laymyethna Township.
Meanwhile, the Myanmar National League chairman, Shan United FC, Ayeyawady United Women FC, Yangon United FC, Yadanarbon FC, former and current Myanmar national team players, and M League jointly donated 100 million kyats for relief measures in flood-affected areas. The Chief Minister received the donation and presented certificates of appreciation.
