Erosion Protection : Waterway blockage works continue at Ngawun embankment

Erosion protection and waterway blockage prevention works are continuing at the damaged section of the Ngawun Embankment in Laymyethna Township of Hinthada District in Ayeyawady Region.

Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw inspected the ongoing works, which include installing steel sheet piles, placing geo-bags and sandbags, and strengthening barriers to prevent further water flow into the embankment. He coordinated with officials, engineers and workers to speed up the necessary measures and provided cash awards to workers and firefighters involved in the emergency works.

The Chief Minister and party also visited temporary shelters in Laymyethna Township and met with flood-affected residents. They provided food, rice and other relief supplies. Health officials also gave awareness talks on snake bites, diarrhea diseases and other health precautions, while medical support was provided to the flood victims.
