Drug Seizure: Over K2 million worth of stimulant tablets in Kalay

A combined team comprised of Anti-Narcotic Task Force seized over 2 million kyats worth of stimulant tablets in Kalay Township on August 23rd.

Acting on a tip-off, the team stopped and searched a vehicle near Chindwin Bridge and seized over 900,000 stimulant tablets. The investigation led to the arrest of two more suspects in Taungphila ward and Chan Myae Aung Si ward in Kalay Township, with 260,000 stimulant tablets. Further investigation revealed that the seized stimulant tablets were being transported to Kalay Township and Taze Township of Sagaing Region from Namtsang Township of Shan State (South). Legal actions are taken against those who involved in illegal drug trafficking process under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and Anti-Money Laundering Law.
