Sight Seeing in Kyzyl, Tuva: President and delegation members took sight-seeing tour

President U Min Aung Hlaing visited prominent sites in Kyzyl, the capital of Russia’s Tuva Republic, on Sunday, during his official visit. He visited the Center of Asia monument, located near the confluence of the Great Yenisei and Little Yenisei rivers, and learned about its historical and geographical significance.

Kyzyl is widely recognized as a geographical center of Asia, and the monument has become one of the city’s main landmarks. The President also visited the V. Kok-ool National Music and Drama Theatre, where he watched performances featuring Tuva’s famous traditional throat singing and musical instruments.

The theatre was established in 1936 and is an important center for Tuva’s performing arts. It presents plays, concerts and traditional performances in the Tuvan and Russian languages. The theatre is known for preserving Tuva’s distinctive cultural identity through music, drama and traditional arts.

The delegation later visited the National Museum of the Republic of Tuva, founded in 1929. The museum is the main institution preserving Tuva’s historical and cultural heritage. Its collections include ancient archaeological discoveries, Buddhist and shamanic artifacts, traditional clothing and jewelry, musical instruments, historical documents and objects from everyday Tuvan life.

Tuva is a region in southern Siberia surrounded by the Sayan and Altai Mountains. Its culture combines Central Asian and Siberian traditions, with Buddhism, Orthodox Christianity and traditional shamanic beliefs coexisting. The region is also well known for its unique throat-singing tradition and rich natural and cultural heritage.
