Monsoon Tree-Planting Ceremony : NPT Council Chairman attended 3rd time monsoon tree-planting

The 2026 Monsoon Tree-Planting Ceremony, Nay Pyi Taw-level (third time), was held Sunday morning along Thiri Mandine  Road in Pobbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than attended the ceremony and delivered the opening remarks.

Afterwards, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman planted a Gangaw tree to launch the tree-planting activity. He then encouraged the participants as they planted a total of 1,500 trees, including teak, pyinkado, padauk and star flower trees, at the designated locations.

Afterwards, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman attended and delivered the opening remarks at a discussion on improving the pass rate of the 2027 Matriculation Examination, held at the Pyinya Beikman ပညာ့ဗိမာန် Hall of Basic Education High School No. 11 in Zabuthiri Township.

In his opening remarks, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman said that he was very pleased and grateful to learn that senior professors serving as Chief Examiners from the University of Mandalay had personally come to Nay Pyi Taw to lead discussions with high school teachers with the aim of improving the pass rate of the 2027 Matriculation Examination.

He expressed his belief and hope that the guidance, lectures and discussions provided by the Chief Examiners and senior professors would have a significant impact on the 2027 Matriculation Examination pass rate in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. He also urged high school teachers to make every effort to improve the pass rate by fully sharing with their students the guidance, lectures and discussions provided by the senior professors serving as Chief Examiners.

Subsequently, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman visited the Child Care Centre under the Department of Social Welfare in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, where he presented educational materials and food items for the children, it is reported.
