Ongoing flooding in Kayin State has forced the temporary closure of a total of 43 basic education schools across Kawkareik, Myawady, Hlaingbwe and Kya In Seik Gyi Townships.

The affected schools include primary, middle and high schools. The temporary closures have been implemented due to flooding conditions, with the safety and well-being of students and teachers taken into consideration. Classes will resume once the floodwaters recede and conditions are considered safe.

Missed school days will be made up through replacement class days to ensure that students can complete their required lessons and maintain continuity in their education. Authorities are continuing to monitor the flooding situation in the affected areas.
