Parliamentary Affairs : Meeting with the Mon State Hluttaw officials

Deputy Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw, member of the Myanmar Parliamentary Union U Maung Maung Ohn met with Mon State hluttaw speaker, deputy speaker and representatives in Mawlamyine on Friday.

He urged hluttaw representatives to work together with the government and the public to promote national development and serve the interests of citizens. He also encouraged them to raise questions, submit proposals, and help update laws to address local needs.

He said the Pyithu Hluttaw had held two regular sessions in 2026, during which 286 starred questions, 599 non-starred questions and three proposals were submitted. The Deputy Speaker also called for stronger cooperation between hluttaws and capacity-building for hluttaw representatives and staff. During the meeting, MRTV set-top boxes were presented to the Mon State Government Office and State Hluttaw Office.
