Disaster Preparedness : Flood protection measures in Letpadan

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, together with the regional Hluttaw Speaker and officials, inspected flood protection measures in Letpadan Township on Saturday.

They inspected erosion-control works along the Ayeyawady River near Ohn Kone Village and reviewed flood protection embankments along the eastern bank of the river protecting Letpadan and Minhla towns. They also inspected erosion damage near Sarni Su Village and the condition of the flood protection embankment.

The Chief Minister instructed to continuously monitor the embankments and keep necessary materials ready for emergency repairs. The Chief Minister also met with local residents and urged them to help maintain the flood protection embankments. Support items, meals and cash assistance were provided to local workers and relevant officials involved in the flood protection works.
