Traditional Lethwei : 2026 Region and State Traditional Lethwei Tournament

The 2026 Region and State Traditional Lethwei Tournament opened on Thursday at Thein Phyu Sports Hall in Yangon.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and Deputy Minister for Sports Affairs U Nyi Nyi attended the opening ceremony and gave remarks, followed by the formal opening of the tournament. The first bout featured a men’s 51-kg novice-class match between San Naing Htay of Yangon Region and Kyaw Kyaw Htay of Mon State. A total of 123 athletes are taking part in 107 bouts of the tournament which will run from August 13 to 20, 2026.
