Former Thai MP shoots dead local official over money row

A former Thai lawmaker shot dead a local government official during a financial dispute outside a government building in Nonthaburi province, north of Bangkok on Monday.

The former MP was arrested and later confessed to the shooting at a police station, according to journalists present. The shooting came days after a school shooting in the same region.  Authorities are investigating the circumstances and motive behind the killing.
