Zhejiang applies digital tech to strengthen Typhoon Dolphin defenses

The Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in eastern China on Sunday afternoon, after the storm triggered more than 1,000 flight cancellations, evacuations and a top-level alert. In Zhejiang province, a digital twin platform is used to monitor rainfall and water levels at more than 10,000 hydrological stations, simulate flood risks, identify evacuation zones and prepare response plans.

Intelligent robot dogs are patrolling water facilities in Ningbo, while Wenzhou has deployed a fixed-wing communication drone capable of staying airborne for up to five hours and supporting communications for up to 1,200 people.
