Authorities in eastern China shut schools, closed tourist sites, and suspended transport as Typhoon Dolphin approached with maximum winds of 162 km/h. The storm threatens Zhejiang and Fujian provinces, bringing heavy rainfall and flood risks.

National authorities declared a level three emergency response which is the second lowest level. Authorities in the city of Ningbo ordered schools and other educational facilities shut this weekend and all water-related activities to halt.
