Typhoon Dolphin has lashed Japan’s southern Okinawa prefecture with maximum sustained winds of 162 km/h. The slow-moving storm caused localized power outages, forced widespread flight cancellations at Naha Airport, and left several people injured.

The Japan Meteorological Agency maintained high alerts for heavy rainfall, high waves, and storm surges across southwestern Japan. After crossing the Ryukyu Islands near Okinawa, Dolphin moved into the East China Sea while weakening slightly in forward speed.
