Hundreds of participants from Japan and South Korea have marched in traditional costumes to recreate historical Joseon Korean envoy delegations that traveled to Japan during the Edo period for diplomacy and cultural exchange.

The annual reenactment event has been held since 1980 to promote friendship between Japan and South Korea. Records detailing these historic diplomatic missions were inscribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2017 due to joint preservation efforts by Japan and South Korean organizations.
