Direct flights between Colombo and Hanoi to be start next month

Viet Nam Airlines would begin direct flights between Colombo and Hanoi from 16 August 2026. Sri Lanka and Viet Nam are strengthening tourism ties with the launch of a new direct air connection between the two countries. The announcement was made at a tourism promotion event in Colombo titled “Viet Nam – A World of Endless Wonders,” held on Thursday.

The new direct service marks an important step in expanding tourism cooperation and strengthening people-to-people links between Sri Lanka and Viet Nam as both countries seek to boost visitor arrivals and economic collaboration.
