Parliamentary Affairs: Myanmar Parliamentary Union held its meeting

The Myanmar Parliamentary Union (MPU) held its meeting at the Zabuthiri Hall in the Hluttaw building on Thursday.

The session was attended by Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Ye, deputy speakers, regional and state hluttaw speakers, and senior officials. The Speaker explained that the MPU was formed in June 2026 with 18 members, including leaders of the Union and regional hluttaws, to strengthen cooperation between hluttaws, improve legislative processes, and enhance democratic practices.

Discussions focused on hluttaw procedures, lawmaking responsibilities, reviewing existing laws, and improving coordination between Union and region/state hluttaw. Officials emphasized the need for effective legislation, regular hluttaw sessions, and stronger cooperation to serve the people.
