Humanoid robots fight in Tokyo

Humanoid robots competed against each other in Tokyo of Japan on Saturday. Participants piloted humanoid robots that engage in full-contact combat inside an octagonal arena, with real machines battling head-to-head.

Organized by the American robot combat organization REK, the event aims at demonstrating the latest breakthroughs in robotics, artificial intelligence and engineering. The event focuses heavily on "physical AI", service humanoids rather than combat leagues.
