Major Esports Event : Varsity Esports Championship at Yangon University

In Yangon on Saturday, university students gathered for a major Esports event as the Varsity Esports Championship 2026 has kicked off at the University of Yangon.

The tournament is organized by the Myanmar Electronic Sports Federation (MESF) in partnership with PUBG Mobile. Yangon University Rector Dr. Thaung Thaik and MESF Vice President U Kyaw Htet Lin opened the competition by presenting the championship trophy.

Sixteen teams are competing in PUBG Mobile, with four players per squad, while Mobile Legends matches feature five‑player teams. The event drew large crowds of students and young fans, eager to cheer on their favorite teams. Winning teams will advance to the finals on July 26, and Champions will represent their universities in national and international Esports tournaments.
