Religious Ceremony : Golden lotus robe offered to Maravijaya Buddha Image

The Golden Lotus Robe offering ceremony was held at Maravijaya Buddha Image on Thursday morning with the presence of President U Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.

The ceremony also marked the completion of the second offering of radiant paint on the circumference of the Maravijaya Buddha Image and third anniversary of the Consecration Ceremony. The ceremony commenced with the offering of emerald alms bowl, fruits, water and oil lamps to the Maravijaya Buddha Image.

Subsequently, the ceremony was inaugurated with the three-time recitation of Namotasa.  Then, the Golden Lotus Robe was conveyed to the Buddha Image along with the recitations of Metta Suttas. Next, the President offered the robe to the Buddha Image and sprinkled scented water.

After sharing merit gained, the ceremony was concluded with three-time recitation of “Buddha Sasanan Ciram Titthatu. After the ceremony, the President and wife struck the Thaddha Dhipadhi Bell on the pagoda platform nine times to share the merit gained.
