India and Romania on Thursday upgraded their bilateral ties during a historic state visit by Indian President Droupadi Murmu to Bucharest.

During the meeting, Murmu announced that her country will double training opportunities for Romanian nationals under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation program. The two nations signed three key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), set a target to double bilateral trade within three years, and planned to designate 2028 as the India-Romania Year of Innovation.
