






The ceremony marking the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) was held Tuesday evening at the Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon.
The event was attended by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army), General Kyaw Swar Lin, together with his wife. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People's Republic of China, followed by the screening of a documentary video on the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
Afterwards, Senior Colonel Qu Zhe, the Chinese Defence Attaché to Myanmar, delivered welcoming remarks. General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Senior Colonel Qu Zhe and his wife then jointly cut a commemorative cake marking the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and posed for a group photograph.
Following the ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar and the Chinese Defence Attaché hosted a gala dinner in honor of the guests attending the event, it’s learnt.
