Ordinance 4/2026 : Martial Law Order in townships under State of Emergency

Office of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar issued Ordinance 4/2026 on 21st July, 2026.

For the purpose of restoring administrative, community peace and stability, and rule of law to normal conditions in the townships for which the continuance of the state of emergency has been declared under Ordinance 3/2026, martial law is hereby continued, and the authority and duties related to administration and the judiciary are vested in the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, in accordance with Article 413, Sub-section (b) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services may exercise these powers and duties personally or may delegate them to an appropriate military commander. This Order shall remain in force for a period of ninety (90) days from today. It was signed by President U Min Aung Hlaing.
