

Myanmar will host its First Inter-University Esports Tournament, the PUBG MOBILE Varsity Esports Championship, at the University of Yangon later this month, according to organizers at a media briefing held at Pan Pacific Yangon on Saturday.
The tournament is jointly organized by the Myanmar Esports Federation (MESF) and PUBG MOBILE Offline. Campus qualifying rounds are being held from 17 to 19 July, with the participation of 273 teams comprising 1,092 players from 29 universities and colleges across the country.
The top 16 university teams will compete in the final round at the University of Yangon Sports Hall on 25 and 26 July.
MESF Vice-Chairman U Kyaw Htet Lin said the event is Myanmar's first university-level esports championship and aims to identify talented young players. The winning team will have the opportunity to compete against professional teams, while outstanding players may be selected to represent Myanmar in international competitions.
