Tiger-2026 : Myanmar-Russia Joint Exercise in Nay Pyi Taw

Myanmar-Russia Joint Exercise (Tiger-2026) took place in Nay Pyi Taw Ottrathiri Station on Friday. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo viewed the Joint Exercise which aims to exchange experience of military frontline.

The combined Myanmar and Russian forces conducted various military drills, including drone-based reconnaissance, battlefield insertion, sniper operations, and the use of FPV and heavy drones to engage and capture targets in a phased operation.

This was followed by screening of a video clip on preparations for the Joint Exercise and marching and hoisting of Myanmar and Russian flags by Quadcopter Drones for the successful drill. Leader of the Russian Team Lt-Gen Nosulev Mikhail Yakovlevich and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo gave honorary words for the successful drill.

The Myanmar-Russia Joint Exercise (Tiger-2026) is the very first drill between Myanmar and Russian Armies, promoting friendship, trust and partnership cooperation between the two armies. The military equipment used in the drill were brought by the Russian Army.

During the joint exercise which commenced from July 6, Russian and Myanmar instructors provided both theoretical and practical training in subjects including engineering, drones, sniper operations, medical support, communications, jungle warfare, mountain warfare, and the exchange of battlefield experiences. On July 17, the participants conducted a live practical demonstration exercise.
