Thailand to restructure power tariffs for data center

Thailand on Wednesday approved a major electricity tariff restructure that separates data centers into their own specific user category. Aimed at reflecting real power supply and grid investment costs, the new rates for data centers are expected to range from 5 to 6 baht per unit.

In conjunction with dedicated tariffs, the government is introducing direct Power Purchase Agreements and a seven-point energy action plan to guarantee secure electricity supply for hyperscale operators.
