







The Myitkyina-Mogaung-Mohnyin Down Train No. (49), and Up Train No. (50), services will begin operation on July 21, according to Kachin State Government.
Therefore, Myanmar Railways is carrying out track maintenance, upgrading, clearing operations, and repair and construction of railway bridges and stations along the 52.25-mile section between Mogaung and Mohnyin stations. In this regard, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htin Nan, accompanied by state government members and officials, inspected the progress on the morning of July 11.
They discussed with Myanmar Railways officials the renovation status of Pinbaw Station in Mogaung Township and coordinated necessary actions. They also toured and inspected the completion of clearing works along the railway line from Pinbaw Station to Nankhwin Station, the completion of track repair works, the reconstruction of bridge No. (630) over Nankhwin Creek including bridge piers and abutments, and the ongoing upgrading of railway sleepers.
Additionally, at the Basic Education High School (Pinbaw) in Pinbaw Village, they visited and encouraged the free healthcare services provided by the specialist field treatment team from Myitkyina General Hospital to residents of villages within the Pinbaw Village-tract. They also attended a ceremony held at the Pale Yadana Hall of the school to honor and present commendation cash awards to outstanding students who passed the 2026 university entrance examination from villages in the Pinbaw area.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister and officials arrived in Namti Town and attended a ceremony at the Town Hall to distribute rice bags to households from various townships temporarily taking shelter in urban wards. They provided 200 rice bags and additionally donated 6 million kyats to supplement and address the needs of the various camps, it’s reported.
