Regional Development: Meeting with townselders and officials in Minbu

President U Min Aung Hlaing on Sunday met with townelders and officials at the Sasana BeikmanTaw in Minbu to discuss the regional development works. In his speech, the President stressed the strategic location of Minbu as the city developed after opening the Ayeyawady Bridge, and urged all to strive of urban development as a model town.

Highlighting the lessons learnt through the history, the President emphasized to carry out for promoting the education standard, contributing to the socio-economic of the region. He added that Magway Region mainly cultivates cotton and urged all to strive for meeting the targeted yield and to produce cotton-based products and other by products, as well as cotton oil and animal feed.

The President urged the locals to cooperate in regional development endeavours and efforts to promote the education, health and sports sectors. Then the President donated books and periodicals for the local residents. Then, the attendees reported on the needs regional development, and the President guided the necessaries.

He also stressed to plant trees to mitigate the climate change, creating better place for next generation. He also reiterated to enhance productivity and export for the economic development. He also added that it is necessary to strive for multi-sectoral development including economic, education, health and sports for regional development. 

He also emphasized for systematic practice of democratic system, harmonizing with traditional customs, while paving way for differences to get back on correct path. The President urged all to strive for emergence of decent youths for the betterment of the future nation.

The President next inspected the upgrading of Minbu District Sport ground and instructed the necessaries. The President and party also visited Magwe University and observed the multipurpose hall, Science Research Center and Library. After that, they viewed around the compound of the University via motorcade. At the meeting hall of the Technological University (Magwe), the President heard presentations by the Pro-Rector regarding the brief history of the University, projects, researches for regional development,  lands needed to build sport ground, library and other infrastructures.
