China, Russia conclude maritime drills of Joint Sea-2026 exercise

China and Russia concluded their annual "Joint Sea-2026" live-fire maritime drills on Saturday. The sixth-day exercises, which began on July 6, took place in the waters and airspace off the Chinese port city of Qingdao.

The joint operations featured naval units participating in coordinated drills on reconnaissance, submarine rescue, anti-surface strikes, air and missile defense, and tactical coordination. Following the conclusion of the exercise, select units from both fleets will proceed to the Pacific Ocean for continuing their commitment to maintaining international and regional peace and stability.
