Reforestation Initiatives: Monsoon tree planting ceremony in Pyin Oo Lwin

President U Min Aung Hlaing on Sunday attended the 2026 Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony in Pyin Oo Lwin Township of Mandalay Region, where he planted a commemorative tree. A total of 3,000 saplings from eight various species were planted during the event. The species included Cherry, Khayay, Gulmohar, Pyinkado, Mahogany, and various other hard wood trees.

The annual monsoon tree planting ceremony is part of Myanmar's environmental conservation efforts to increase forest coverage, to improve biodiversity, to help prevent soil erosion, and to support climate resilience through nationwide reforestation initiatives.
