






The National Races Village in Yangon is undergoing an upgrade to improve its facilities. On Friday, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Than Maung inspected ongoing and planned upgrade projects.
During the visit, he reviewed development plans for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, including renovations to traditional ethnic houses, repairs to the observation tower, restoration of murals, improvements to internal roads and the construction of new staff housing.
The Union Minister said the National Races Village is an important tourist destination and urged officials to improve its facilities, cleanliness and overall appearance to make it more attractive to visitors. He also called for speedy implementation of upgrade projects in accordance with the procedures. He later toured the village, including the Union Hall, bamboo walkway and maze, and inspected the progress of upgrade projects.
