Promoting Reading Habit: School library development activity

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu attended a ceremony for development of School Library And Promoting Reading Habit on Friday at No.4 Basic Education High School, Ahlon township, Yangon.

The event was jointly organized by Information and Public Relations Department and Basic Education Department. The ceremony was inaugurated by cutting ribbon by the Chief Minister, followed by performance of students with the song titled “Myanmar Literature and Cultural Heritage”.

 The Chief Minister later delivered the remark and presented honorary gifts and certificates to author Lin Theik Nyunt (Myanma Myay) who delivered the “beneficial of reading” topic, performance troupe and donors.  

Next, the Chief Minister visited the departmental exhibitions including environmental conservation, education, information and public relations, traditional medicine, Yangon City Development Committee,  Myanmar Police Force, Red Cross Society and Fire Brigade. The ceremony also featured various competitions such as archery, football, balloon squeezing, origami, essay, drawing, painting, coloring, poem recitation and quiz.
