A new Recreation Centre was opened at Naypyitaw State Academy on Thursday. The opening ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than, senior government officials, faculty members, and students.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein said the new facility will support students' academic excellence and overall development. The Recreation Centre includes a fitness center, cafeteria, and mini mart, providing modern facilities to enhance campus life.

The Naypyitaw State Academy was established on November 9, 2022, opening with 126 third-year students in a single main building. Since then, the academy has expanded to include classrooms, laboratories, seminar rooms, and student dormitories. A new graduation hall, which also serves as a multi-purpose hall, was inaugurated on March 1, 2026.

The new Recreation Centre, built during the 2024–2025 fiscal year under the guidance of the Head of State, was officially opened on July 9, 2026. The facility is expected to strengthen the academy's infrastructure, support higher-quality education, and promote the all-round development of students.
