Public Awareness Tax Campaign: Mon State CM delivered the opening address

An awareness briefing and discussion event, conducted as a public Tax Campaign to enhance tax knowledge and promote tax compliance, was held on Wednesday morning at the Convocation Hall of Mawlamyine University for university students from Mawlamyine University, the Technological University, and the Government Industrial Institute in Mon State, organized by the Internal Revenue Department.

First, at the tax awareness lecture, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Than, delivered an opening address, expressing his gratitude to those who contributed to the successful implementation of this tax awareness public campaign and emphasizing that everyone needs to participate and cooperate from the taxpayer sector in order to ensure the development and modernization of the state and the nation.

Afterward, the Mon State Director of the Internal Revenue Department, U John Sein Gi, presented a detailed briefing with a PowerPoint presentation on the main objectives of formulating and implementing the Tax Campaign public awareness program for enhancing tax knowledge and promoting tax compliance, the types of taxes currently collected by the Internal Revenue Department, and essential information about taxation. A question-and-answer session on tax-related matters was also conducted for the attending students.
