Peru unveils 3,800-year-old ritual offering linked to Caral civilization

Peru's Culture Ministry has unveiled a 3,800-year-old ritual offering discovered at the archaeological site of Peñico, north of Lima. The cache, containing 43 carved wooden and bone objects deposited during a ceremonial construction ritual, provides new evidence of the cultural continuity of the Caral civilization following the decline of the Americas' earliest known urban centers.
