Labour Affairs: Meeting with the Laotian Minister

Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe held a meeting with Lao Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr. Phoxay Sayasone, in Vientiane on Saturday.

The meeting took place during the state visit of President U Min Aung Hlaing to Laos. Both sides discussed cooperation on labour issues, including issuing Certificates of Identity (COI) for undocumented Myanmar workers in Laos, protecting workers’ rights and welfare, and strengthening coordination between the two ministries. They also discussed implementing agreements under the existing MoU on labour cooperation and holding future high-level meetings between the two countries.
