International Cooperative Day: Commemorative event held in Nay Pyi Taw

The 2026 International Cooperative Day and World Rural Development Day ceremony was held at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thein attended the ceremony and read out a message sent by the President, marking the International Cooperative Day and World Rural Development Day. Messages from international and regional organizations were also read out during the ceremony, followed by video presentations highlighting cooperative and rural development activities.

Awards were then presented to outstanding cooperative associations, township cooperatives, and rural development projects from various regions and states. These included awards for production, trade, services, and rural development performance, as well as clean village and water supply projects.

After the award ceremony, officials viewed photo displays and product exhibitions from cooperative societies. The exhibition will remain open from July 3 to July 5 for public viewing and purchase.
