People-to-People Ties: Meeting with Myanmar–Laos Friendship Association

President U Min Aung Hlaing received Chairman of the Myanmar–Laos Friendship Association, Mr. Chanthavong Seneamatmontry on Saturday.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Myanmar–Laos Friendship Association expressed his warm congratulations, noting that this is the President’s first visit to a fellow ASEAN member state after assuming office.

He described the visit as a symbol of the importance placed on strengthening bilateral relations between Myanmar and Laos. He also emphasized the importance of continuing regular annual consultations between the Myanmar–Laos Friendship Associations, fostering closer cooperation, and further enhancing people-to-people relations between the two countries.

In addition, both sides discussed increasing the role of the friendship associations in promoting education, employment opportunities, and capacity building for youth, as part of strengthening people-to-people ties.
