






Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo led the second monsoon tree planting ceremony by families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) near Yezin Dam in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.
In his address, the Commander-in-Chief stressed the importance of tree planting and forest conservation in tackling climate change, protecting the environment and supporting sustainable national development. He urged participants to ensure planted trees survive and grow under the motto: “Plant to survive, nurture to grow, protect to last.”
A total of 2,400 trees, including teak, padauk, pyinkado and mahogany, were planted at the ceremony. Similar tree-planting events were held at regional military commands across the country, with over 178,000 trees planted nationwide.
