Domestic and Overseas Workers : Meeting with the Hluttaw Committee

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met with the Hluttaw Committee on Domestic and Overseas Workers on Thursday to discuss labor issues and the committee’s future work.

During the meeting, committee members reported on their responsibilities, ongoing activities and planned initiatives. The Speaker emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of both domestic and overseas Myanmar workers and called for closer cooperation with relevant ministries to improve labor protection.

He also urged the committee to review and update existing labor-related laws in line with current needs and international standards, including those of the International Labour Organization (ILO). In addition, he stressed the need to monitor overseas employment agencies and strengthen support mechanisms for Myanmar migrant workers abroad.
