Intellectual Property : Central Committee meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Central Committee on Intellectual Property (IP) held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Central Committee Chair Vice President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye attended the meeting and made a speech, calling for stronger cooperation to improve Myanmar’s intellectual property system.

She urged relevant ministries and organizations to work together to implement the National Intellectual Property Strategy (2023–2028), to strengthen protection for intellectual property rights, and to raise public awareness of IP laws, particularly among businesses and MSMEs.

The Vice President also emphasized promoting research, innovation and technology transfer, expanding Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs), and encouraging the registration of patents, trademarks, industrial designs and copyrights to support economic development. The meeting also reviewed progress on previous committee decisions and discussed future measures to further strengthen Myanmar’s intellectual property framework and align it with regional and international standards.
