





Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo on Wednesday afternoon received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Royal Thai Armed Forces led by Lt-Gen.
Warathep Boonya, who headed the Thai delegation attending the 38th Myanmar–Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) Meeting, which was hosted by Myanmar, at the Zeyathiri Beikman Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on July 1st. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the successful convening of the 38th Myanmar–Thailand Regional Border Committee Meeting hosted by Myanmar, as well as ways to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
The Commander-in-Chief also expressed his sincere appreciation to Thailand for its humanitarian assistance and good-neighbourly support following the devastating Mandalay earthquake of March 28, 2025, including the dispatch of rescue teams and relief supplies to Myanmar.
The discussions also covered the promotion of military-to-military exchanges, including goodwill visits, exchanges of cultural and sports delegations, and training personnel. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing bilateral military cooperation to promote peace, stability, and development in the border areas, strengthen counter-terrorism efforts, and expand cooperation between the two governments and armed forces in combating illegal trade, narcotics trafficking, and online scam and gambling operations.
