






The Myanmar Consumer Protection Commission's Work Coordination Meeting (2/2026) was held Tuesday morning at Meeting Hall No. 52 of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Commerce. In Nay Pyi Taw.
The Chairman of Myanmar Consumer Protection Commission and Union Minister for Commerce, U Tun Ohn, attended and delivered the opening speech. In his address, the Union Minister stated that the 32nd ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection (ACCP) Meeting and its related meetings were successfully hosted by Myanmar for the second time as the host country, from May 18 to 20, 2026, at the Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake in Yangon.
He urged that, since raising the average life expectancy of the people and developing healthy human resources are key sectors in nation-building, relevant parties should cooperate and participate from the consumer protection sector in healthcare services. He also emphasized the need for more effective coordination among relevant government departments and organizations in implementing consumer protection activities in Myanmar, and called on business operators to make efforts to improve and produce better products in accordance with established standards.
Afterward, the Secretary of Myanmar Consumer Protection Commission and Director General of the Department of Consumer Affairs presented updates on the Commission's activities, the status of implementations based on decisions from previous meetings, and explanations regarding cases that require the Commission's rulings. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, and members of the Commission then provided recommendations and discussed the matters presented, it’s reported.
