Football Festival: Myanmar to join FIFA U-15 World Cup

Myanmar’s U-15 national football team will participate in the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026, which will be held in Azerbaijan from October 22 to 31, 2026.

The Myanmar Football Federation is currently selecting players for the preliminary squad through nationwide scouting, aiming to include talented young players from all regions.

Further details on selection and scouting programs will be announced later. The tournament will feature a special festival-style format, with 8-a-side matches played on a smaller pitch and shorter match duration. All teams will play multiple matches, with a minimum of 7 to 10 games, regardless of results. Most FIFA member countries are expected to take part in the inaugural U-15 competition, including all 11 Southeast Asian nations.

The Myanmar Football Federation has been actively developing youth football through U-15 leagues, training centers, academies and regional programs, which will help prepare players for international competitions and future U-17 World Cup opportunities.
